A portrait is so much more than a photograph of an individual or group - it tells a story and that story is about you and to be truly effecive, it must also capture the personality. That can require considerable patience, particularly in Family Portrait situations where children don't always behave the way you want them to!

- WHAT TO EXPECT
Q: What is the best age to photograph babies?
A: Newborns should be photographed within the first two weeks of life. They are super sleepy, easy to move around, don't cry very much, and usually sleep peacefully throughout the entire session. After the two week mark babies become more wakeful and lose that fleeting "newborn bliss" stage.
After the newborn stage wait until babies are between 5-6 months of age before scheduling a photo session. This is usually when babies are sitting up on their own, smiling, and are more interactive for their photo session.
Q: What should my child wear for their photo session?
A: For newborns.....All natural is the best!! Nakedness, diapers, and onsies are the best option. Soft blankies and fuzzy hats add a nice touch to each photo session. Be sure to rub baby lotion on their skin to combat the dry, flaky skin that newborns usually have the first couple of weeks.
For babies....simple and comfy is suggested. Frilly dresses or "shirt and tie" outfits should be avoided. Dress your baby in clothes that will fit them at the time of the shoot and avoid buying clothes that they are intended to "grow into."
For girls.... Unmatching patterns, bright colors, stylish hats, leg warmers, tutus with jeans, cowboy boots with sundresses are just a few suggestions.
For boys.....comfy and cool. Jeans with layered t-shirts, snow-boarder beanies, polo shirts with "popped" colars, blazers with untucked shirts underneath, rocker skeleton t-shirts with vans shoes are just a few suggestions. "Sunday's best" style of clothing is not recommended.
Q: What should my family wear for their photo session?
A: Choose whether your portrait is to be formal or casual and get all family members to dress accordingly, try not to mix styles. Wear clothes that your family would normally wear, so your style and character come through - you will then be more comfortable with your look. Avoid logos or branding as these will distract from the people in the portrait. Pastel or light colours are more flattering, keeping the emphasis on the faces. Think of your colour scheme. If you have a place in a room picked out to hang your portrait, try to compliment the clothes with the environment of the room.
**Cardinal rule to remember: Don't wear white socks if you are wearing dark colored shoes or pants.
Q: What suggestions do you have to make our session run smoothly?
A: To make your session run smoothly make sure that all babies and kids are well-fed, not sick, and well-rested on the day of their shoot. Tired kids or babies generally are not happy while getting their pictures taken. The same can be said for kids that are hungry or are not feeling well. It is better to reschedule your pictures than to force kids to get their pictures taken when they aren't feeling their best.
Parents are encouraged to be calm and relaxed about their photo session. This helps children to relax and yields wonderful pictures.

Session fees are for Photographer's time and talent and does not include any prints or high-res CD's.
Included in the session is a 1 - 3 hour shoot in the Temple Photography Studio. Clients will have access to a two week online proof gallery of the best 30-40 images from their session.
Headshot sessions are approximately 30 minutes.
Temple Photography Studio provides both digital images and prints as required.

Finished Digital Hi-resolution Images are charged at €35.00 each. It includes full image retouching: skin blemish repairing, hair touch ups, skin tone adjustment as required, exposure adjustment and cropping as required.
All photographs are kept on file so if you would like to order extra copies at a later date it’s no problem, let us know.
All wall portraits purchased are enhanced.
The fee for the session is payable on the day.
